temple sequence describes a shifting environment of indeterminate scale. the camera moves around a structure made of intersecting mirrored planes and colored lights, while the audio narration recites a passage from hp lovecraft’sat the mountains of madness. lovecraft’s protagonists often lose their grip on reality after having caught a glimpse of something so far removed from human scale that it is beyond comprehension. i was happy with the points of slippage between the strange landscape being described in the audio, and the visibly home-made nature of the visual effects. the images shown here are production stills.
